Modernism
Representing an evolving set of ideas among artists, Modernist sought new ways to create art. In the wake of World War Two, artist wished for new ways to portray their emotions and ideas into art pieces. In response to the rationalist ideas of the technological advances of the industrial age, artists wished to create new ways to define art. In layman's terms, the modern artist defined an idea according to his or her own unique perspective and rejected traditional styles of art.
